Yesterday morning, Goochland County Public Schools hosted our Business and Education Roundtable—and we’re feeling energized by the conversations that took place!
We were proud to welcome representatives from over 30 local businesses and organizations for a meaningful dialogue about how GCPS is preparing students for life after high school—and how we can continue to grow and improve our efforts. From career pathways and internships to essential workplace skills, our guests shared valuable insights and ideas to help ensure our graduates are ready for what’s next.
We’re especially grateful for our strong partnership with the Goochland County Economic Development Office, whose ongoing support and promotion of school-business partnerships play a vital role in this work.

🌾🐄 GCPS 4th graders had a blast at Ag Day!
What started as Erin Henley’s senior project in 2008 has grown into a beloved tradition, connecting students to the heart of our agricultural community. From farm equipment and baby calves 🐮 to bees 🐝, goats 🐐, chickens 🐓, and homemade ice cream 🍦—our kids learned firsthand how agriculture touches every part of our lives.
Huge thanks to our local farmers, FFA & 4H members, Virginia Cooperative Extension, Manakin Soil, and so many others who made this day hands-on, educational, and unforgettable! 💚🌱

With the recent devastation in South West Virginia, West North Carolina, East Tennessee, and East Kentucky, The Goochland FFA will collect supplies to help with recovery efforts. The GHS FFA will be collecting items to be hauled down to Giles County FFA Land Lab to be then redistributed to areas greatly impacted by Hurricane Helene. We will start collecting items on Monday, October 7th - Friday, October 18th. The collection trailer will be posted in the stadium parking lot near the greenhouse.
