ACA Orientation

Class of 2026 ACA students and newly admitted Class of 2025 ACA students are cordially invited, along with their parents, to attend ACA Orientation on Tuesday, November 1st, at 6:30 pm. This virtual event will feature an overview of the program, including recent curriculum changes, that will help families plan over the next four years (including summers). Topics covered will include dual enrollment fee projections, course requirements, academic standards, additional supports, and transferability of credits.

ANG Events and Reminders

The All-Night Graduation Committee (ANG) would like to remind you that this Wednesday, October 26th, the Goochland Drive-InLinks to an external site. will host a Seniors ONLY special showing of Black Adam. Gates open at 5:30 pm, closing at 6:45 pm for a show time of 7:00 pm. This event is being 100% donated by the Goochland Drive-In.

On Saturday, October 29th, from 11:30 am - 3:30 pm, enjoy lunch at Texas RoadhouseLinks to an external site. in Glen Allen. You must bring the flyerLinks to an external site. or mention Goochland High School ANG.

Canvas Workshop for Parents

GHS and GMS will offer two joint Canvas workshops for parents during Parent/Teacher Conferences on Monday, October 24th. Please join us at either 4:00 pm or 6:00 pm in the Auditorium to set up a parent account and learn more about how you can support your child’s academic progress in Canvas.

GCPS Closed

As a reminder, Goochland County Public Schools will be closed on Monday, October 24th, for Parent/Teacher conferences (12:00 - 7:00 pm) and also on Tuesday, October 25th, for a teacher professional development day. We hope you all enjoy your extra long weekend!

GCPS Fall Gifted Window Now Open

The GCPS fall gifted referral window is now open! Teachers, students, parents, and community members can now complete a referral for gifted evaluation. The deadline to submit is Monday, October 31st

Goochland identifies students as gifted in the following areas:

  • English/Language Arts
  • Math
  • General Intellectual Aptitude
  • Fine Arts (including vocal music, instrumental music, dance, acting, technical theatre, and studio arts)
  • Career and Technical Aptitude

Goochland Baseball Hot Stove Event

The 2nd Annual Goochland Hot Stove League will be held on Saturday, November 19th, at Camp T. Brady Saunders Boy Scout Camp starting at 9:00 am. The event will include several former MLB, college players, and coaches, including the 1984 World Series Champion Johnny Grubb. There will be an opportunity for autographs, a food truck, and a silent auction. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased in advance through Ticket SpicketLinks to an external site.. All proceeds benefit the Goochland High School Baseball Program.

This event is great for athletes considering baseball beyond high school and baseball fans in general. If you love baseball, we hope you will make plans to attend the 2nd Annual Goochland Hot Stove League event!

Kindness Month

Every October, we celebrate Kindness Month at Goochland High School. Kindness is one of our Goochland High School Bulldog BARKS core values, and this month we challenge all Bulldogs to focus on doing kind acts for others. Students have participated in various kindness activities throughout lunches this month. To wrap up Kindness Month, we will participate in SOCKTOBER! Bring in a new pair of socks to donate to a local homeless shelter. Donations will be collected starting next Wednesday, October 26st - Monday, October 31st. The collection box will be located outside of the main office. 

Parent/Teacher Conferences

The teachers at Goochland High School are looking forward to meeting with you during Parent-Teacher Conferences on Monday, October 24th, from 12:00 - 7:00 pm.

Parents will be able to make appointments with teachers for the Parent-Teacher Conferences online. You have the option to meet in person or request a Google Meet link to meet virtually. If you would like to request a virtual conference, please reply with that request to the confirmation email you receive when you sign up with each teacher.

You are a vital partner in your child’s education, and these conferences play an essential role in helping us plan and implement programs to meet your child’s educational needs. SOAR Virginia

SOAR Virginia® is an Early Commitment Scholarship Program created and funded by Virginia529â„  to inspire and assist high school students in reaching their post-secondary education goals. To participate, eligible students pledge to meet program requirements. In return, students receive a range of assistance and may accumulate scholarship support of up to $2,000 to apply toward their post-secondary education expenses.

Underclass Pictures and Senior Make-Up Pictures

Underclass pictures will be taken on Thursday, October 27th, and Friday, October 28th. Freshmen and sophomores will take pictures through PE classes. Juniors will take pictures through English classes. Students can pick up a picture form from their PE or English teachers later in the month. The underclassmen's make-up day will be Monday, November 29th
