ANG Events and Reminders
The All-Night Graduation Committee (ANG) would like to remind you of their Senior events taking place this week:
The All-Night Graduation Committee (ANG) would like to remind you of their next meeting this Monday, October 17th, at Bella Sicilia's, starting at 6:30 pm.
On Wednesday, October 26th, The Goochland Drive-In will host a Seniors ONLY special showing of Black Adam. Gates open at 5:30 pm, closing at 6:45 pm for showtime at 7:00 pm. All Seniors will receive one free popcorn and one complimentary drink.
Additionally, for those who missed the first Senior Shirt cut-off, there is still time to order yours before the final cut-off on Friday, October 21st. Please follow this link to place your order.

Boys Basketball Tryouts
Any boys interested in trying out for basketball this year need to attend the boy’s basketball tryout interest meeting on Wednesday, October 19th, during Bulldog Block in the cafeteria. Please contact Coach Gordon if you have questions in room I-202 or via email (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Class of 2023 Graduation Date
We are excited to announce that we will hold our Class of 2023 graduation services on Saturday, June 3rd, at Goochland High School at 7:30 pm (rain date: Sunday, June 4th, at 7:30 pm). Additional details will be forthcoming, but rest assured, our graduation committee will work extremely hard to make this another exceptional graduation service deserving of an outstanding and spirited class.
Digital Citizenship Week
This week is Digital Citizenship Week. We want all of our students to use technology safely and responsibly. We invite you to check out these family tips to help your children balance their media lives. Fall Play: Clue: High School Edition
The Goochland Drama Department's fall production of Clue: High School Edition will run from Friday,October 21st, through Sunday, October 23rd. Based on the 1985 Paramount Pictures motion picture and the Hasbro board game, CLUE: Onstage (High School Edition) is a madcap comedy that will keep you guessing until the final twist. This classic Whodunnit? is perfect for kicking off the autumn season!
The showtimes are the following:
Friday, October 21st, at 7:00 pm
Saturday, October 22nd, at 7:00 pm
Sunday, October 23rd, at 2:00 pm

Goochland County Public Schools will be closed on Monday, October 24th, for Parent/Teacher conferences (12:00 - 7:00 pm) and Tuesday, October 25th, for a teacher professional development day. We hope you all enjoy your extra long weekend!
GCPS Fall Gifted Window Now Open
The GCPS fall gifted referral window is now open! Teachers, students, parents, and community members can now complete a referral for gifted evaluation. The deadline to submit is Monday, October 31st.
Goochland identifies students as gifted in the following areas:
General Intellectual Aptitude
Fine Arts (including vocal music, instrumental music, dance, acting, technical theatre, and studio arts)
Career and Technical Aptitude

Goochland Baseball Hot Stove Event
The 2nd Annual Goochland Hot Stove League will be held on Saturday, November 19th, at Camp T. Brady Saunders Boy Scout Camp starting at 9:00 am. The event will include several former MLB players, college players and coaches, including the 1984 World Series Champion Johnny Grubb. There will be an opportunity for autographs, a food truck, and a silent auction. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased in advance through Ticket Spicket. All proceeds benefit the Goochland High School Baseball Program.
This event is great for athletes considering baseball beyond high school and baseball fans in general. If you love baseball, we hope you will make plans to attend the 2nd Annual Goochland Hot Stove League event!
Every October, we celebrate Kindness Month at Goochland High School. Kindness is one of our Goochland High School Bulldog BARKS core values, and this month we challenge all Bulldogs to focus on doing kind acts for others. We are excited to spend the month with you spreading kindness across our school and community. Be on the lookout for our Kindness Month activities and posts throughout this month on Canvas.

The teachers at Goochland High School are looking forward to meeting with you during Parent-Teacher Conferences on Monday, October 24th, from 12:00 - 7:00 PM.
Parents can make appointments with teachers for Parent-Teacher Conferences online. You have the option to meet in person or request a Google Meet link to meet virtually. You will be able to register by visiting the following link: https://www.ptcfast.com/schools/Goochland_High_School. Conference registration is now open. If you would like to request a virtual conference, please reply with that request to the confirmation email you receive when you sign up with each teacher.

You are a vital partner in your child’s education, and these conferences play an essential role in helping us plan and implement programs to meet your child’s educational needs. Senior Project Proposals
Attention seniors! Your senior project proposals and senior project parent acknowledgment forms were due to Ms. Bolt on Friday, October 14th. To avoid a late penalty, please submit these forms to her by the end of the day on Tuesday, October 18th. Extra copies can be found in her classroom, room E160, or the GHS Class of 2023 Canvas course under “Senior Project Resources.” Please email Ms. Bolt at email@example.com if you have any questions.
SOAR Virginia® is an Early Commitment Scholarship Program created and funded by Virginia529℠ to inspire and assist high school students in reaching their post-secondary education goals. To participate, eligible students pledge to meet program requirements. In return, students receive a range of assistance and may accumulate scholarship support of up to $2,000 to apply toward post-secondary education expenses.

Underclass Pictures and Senior Make-Up Pictures
Underclass pictures will be taken on Thursday, October 27th, and Friday, October 28th. Freshmen and sophomores will take pictures through PE classes. Juniors will take pictures through English classes. Students can pick up a picture form from their PE or English teachers later in the month. The underclassmen's make-up day will be Monday, November 29th.
In addition, the make-up day for Senior pictures is scheduled for Monday, October 17th. Seniors, please email Ms. Schnakenberg (email@example.com) to schedule your make-up pictures.
