Acceptable Use Policy (And Other Forms):
If you have not already done so, please view and sign our school division’s Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) regarding technology usage, along with other important forms for the 2022-2023 school year. Please log into PowerSchool, click Forms on the left side, and click Agreements. From there you will see all of the important forms for the 2022-2023 school year. If you have any problems getting into PowerSchool or locating the forms please reach out to the front office at your child's school. We ask that all families complete this paperwork prior to the end of September.
Device Insurance:
To support our efforts to provide students with up to date and working technology, Goochland County Public Schools offers, through payment of a student fee, a voluntary repair protection program against accidents for electronic devices loaned to students. Instead of contracting out for a third-party insurance service, Goochland pools the collection of device fee money at your child's school to help offset the cost of repairs throughout the school year. We have found in comparison with third party insurance services that our program is more cost effective for families.
Families who do not participate in the program are responsible for all repair/replacement costs of the loaned equipment. The insurance covers accidental incidents for iPad and MacBook up to replacement cost. If devices have to be replaced, another fee will be collected to continue participation in the program. Parents will receive a letter when incidents are reported. Second and subsequent accidental damage requiring repair will be covered up to $100. A meeting with school administration is required to get a replacement device. Another fee can be collected to continue participation in the program. Students and/or their parents need to report repair needs immediately to school officials. The fee for iPad devices is $20 and the fee for MacBooks is $30.
