ACA Reynolds Graduation Registration

The Spring 2022 Reynolds Commencement Ceremony will take place on Sunday, May 15th, at 2:00 pm, at the VCU Siegel Center. To participate in the ceremony, graduates must have registered by April 29th. Please visit the Reynolds Graduation page to register and find additional information on how to order your cap and gown. AP Testing

AP exam testing began Monday, May 2nd, and continues through Friday, May 13th. Please see the following link for specific exam time and date information. Good luck to all of our AP testers!

Immunization Records for Graduating Seniors

Seniors, if you need your immunization records for college or a new job after graduation, Nurse Duffey can provide them. Send her an email (kduffey@glnd.k12.va.us) with your request. She will scan and email you the records within 48 hours of your request. You can also give her a call at 804-556-5322 x4875.

Medication During School Hours

Nurse Duffey cannot provide over-the-counter medication for any student who has not completed the Student Medication Administration Form.  If your child needs this kind of medication, please fill out this document, as this form must be renewed each school year.  Please email Nurse Duffey (kduffey@glnd.k12.va.us) if you have any questions.  

Nurse’s Appreciation Week

Please join me in celebrating Nurses Appreciation Week by thanking Nurse Duffey for all that she does to support our students, staff, and community. She has simply been fantastic this year and has done a fabulous job keeping us all safe and well. We are lucky to have her on our team, and we are grateful to benefit from her expertise and care! 

Prom

Juniors and Seniors are cordially invited to "An Enchanted Evening" to celebrate the GHS 2022 Prom. Prom will be held at Adams International School on Saturday, May 21st, from 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm. Tickets will be sold online only. Permission forms for non-GHS students are available in the front office. Please email Mrs. Lorello (llorello@glnd.k12.va.us) with any questions. 

SCA and Class Applications

Students, are you interested in being a leader next year and representing your classmates? If so, please consider applying for Student Council Advisory or Class Council. Positions include President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer for the SCA and each class. Responsibilities include attending monthly meetings and helping plan fun events for the student body, such as Homecoming, Spirit Weeks, and Helping Paws Community Day. Those interested in applying should see Ms. Coddington in B122 for an application and to learn more about the process.

School Required Immunizations Clinic

GCPS will hold a vaccine clinic for school-required immunizations on Friday, May 20th, during afternoon school hours for rising 7th and 12th graders. The Tdap Booster, Meningococcal, and HPV vaccines will be administered in the GHS gymnasium (NOTE: HPV is recommended but not required for school attendance).   Parents do not need to be present but will need to provide written consent for the vaccination to occur.

Please complete this survey by Monday, May 9th, if you are interested in your child attending the vaccine clinic. After completing this survey, we will send you the consent form that must be completed and a request for insurance information. Health insurance is not required for your child to receive the vaccine(s).

Spring Testing Calendar

Please refer to the attached GHS Spring 2022 Testing Calendar for end-of-the-year testing information and upcoming events. This year, we plan to hold two asynchronous days (May 18th and May 25th)to accommodate our staffing needs during SOL testing. Only students who must take an SOL will report on those dates. All other students will work on previously assigned work from home. No one will be required to log into a virtual class on those days.

Additionally, all students must take their final exams during the specified testing window. Anyone unable to attend school during the exam window must have a parent contact their administrator.

Summer School Credit Accrual Courses Available

Credit accrual online courses are offered to students looking to move ahead in their academic careers. There are still spots available for the summer of 2022, including a new section of Health and PE 10. Please use these registration and payment links to secure your child's spot. 

Teen Driver Seminar

The Goochland County Sheriff’s Office will host a teen driver seminar at Goochland High School on Saturday, May 14th, from 9:30 am until 12:30 pm. This seminar is for Goochland teen drivers with a minimum of a learner’s permit. The event will include a classroom instructional period in the morning, followed by golf cart driving scenarios and mock traffic stops in the afternoon. Additionally, lunch will be provided to all participants. All interested students and parents should contact Deputy Scott Leabough at the Goochland Sheriff’s Office at (804)-556-5349.
