Calendar Update

Due to the snowstorm during the first week of January, our division lost five valuable instructional days. In order to gain back some of our lost instructional time, both Friday, February 18th, and Monday, March 21st will now be instructional days for students. Schools were previously scheduled to be closed for students on these days for teacher professional workdays.

At this time, Monday, February 21st, is still scheduled to be a holiday for both teachers and students. However, should we miss another school day, Monday, February 21st, will also become an instructional day.

Curriculum Night Session Recordings

Thank you to all who could attend our Virtual Curriculum Night this past Wednesday. We had a great turnout! If you were unable to attend, please visit the Resources page of our Curriculum Night website for session recordings and other information to help you make scheduling decisions for next year.

DCJS Survey

In cooperation with the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services and the Virginia Department of Education, Goochland High School is conducting the Virginia School Survey of Climate and Working Conditions of students, teachers, and staff on February 18th, 2022, during Block 3. The purpose of this survey is to measure student support, student engagement, school discipline, and safety conditions in our school. As stated in a School Messenger on January 10th, 2022, the survey is voluntary, and your child can decide not to participate at any time.  If you do not wish for your child to participate, please contact the school office by February 4th, 2022.  You may call the front office at 556-5322, send in a written note, or email Catherine Richards (GHS survey coordinator) at

We are excited to announce that we will hold our Class of 2022 graduation services on Saturday, June 4th, at Goochland High School at 7:30 pm (rain date: Sunday, June 5th, at 7:30 pm). Please know that this was not an easy decision, as there were multiple factors to consider. We truly appreciate the feedback from our students and their parents.

Additional details will be forthcoming, but rest assured, our graduation committee will work extremely hard to make this another very special graduation service, one deserving of an exceptional class. Thank you for your continued support, and please don’t hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions.

Goochland High School will be a test center for the March 12th SATs. You must register with College Board by February 11th to reserve a seat.
