Every year, we look forward to winter break because it gives us time to relax and recharge, often with family and friends. We celebrate each new year with hope and optimism for the next year to bring us opportunities and successes in our work and our home lives. This year, given the challenges of 2021, we are all looking forward to 2022!
Our students have achieved much this fall! We have a lot to be proud of as we have watched our students learn and grow as individuals during the first semester of this year. Even with the progress that our students have made this year, many in our school community continue to struggle with the impacts of the last two years and the disruptions in our lives. In GCPS, we are focused on helping ALL of our students maximize their own individual potential. Please be assured of our division’s unwavering dedication to providing support and finding solutions.
The holidays can certainly be a time of joy and celebration, but they can also be a time of stress and grief. Should you need support or assistance during our upcoming holiday break or beyond, please feel free to contact any of our community partners:

Our collective and continued effort to support our students requires teamwork and collaboration between our school division and our families. As we all work to support our students, we ask our families to actively and frequently monitor their children’s online and social media activity. As we have discovered through the pandemic, our students have not always demonstrated the healthiest and best use of online applications and technology. We are here to help. We want to continue to work together with you as a partner and resource for your child’s well-being, both academic and social-emotional. As we begin the second semester in January, please know that you can reach out to me or anyone in our division at any time.
I wish you and your family peace, health, and joy over the upcoming winter break!
Yours in Service,
Jeremy Raley, Ed.D.
