Get to Know Some of our Amazing Bulldogs - Throughout the remainder of the school year, we will be highlighting our “teacher-recognized” students each week.

  • Brianna Hernandez was nominated by Ms. Calabrese for a BARKS award! Coincidentally, her favorite class in 10th grade is English with Ms. Calabrese. Her life revolves around dance - Dance Company, Dance Studio, even dancing in her garage! A fun fact about her is that she is super flexible and can do a needle... ouch! Great job, Brianna!

  • Rachael Rong was nominated for a BARKS award by Mrs. David! She is in 9th grade and her favorite class is algebra with Mrs. Proffitt. In her free time, she loves attending Art Club and Astronomy Club meetings. Two fun facts are that she loves dogs, but doesn't have one, and although she is Chinese in heritage, she cannot eat spicy food! Congratulations on your nomination, Rachael!

  • Chance Hedges is an 11th grader and was nominated by Mrs. Burkhart! His favorite classes are English with Mr. Wampler and History with Mrs. Burkhart... he couldn't decide! He is on the indoor soccer team and he plays basketball. One fun fact about Chance is that he is the three-time Turkey Trot champion. Great job on your BARKS nomination, Chance!

State Theatre Results - Congratulations to the Goochland Drama Department! The Theatre Arts II/III/IV students finished 2nd place at the VHSL Class 3 state theatre festival in Charlottesville last weekend. This is the highest finish in the history of the program! Goochland was the only school with a student director (Syd Johnson). In addition, Kaelyn Roy and Connor Davis were two of only four Outstanding Performers honored at the event. The Drama Team would like to thank all of the parent volunteers who assisted with our show over the past few months! Way to go, Bulldogs!

Teacher of the Year - Congratulations to Mrs. Rachel Tate from our History Department. On Friday, she was recognized as our Goochland High School Teacher of the Year! She teaches US History 121-122/AP and VA/US History (Standard and Honors) at GHS. She has been the leading force regarding the GHS Veterans Project - building it from day 1! We are so excited to honor her hard work and dedication to our Bulldog Family! Thank you to everyone who submitted teacher nominations. They will be shared with all of our teachers. Feel free to email Mrs. Tate to congratulate her (rtate@glnd.k12.va.us).
