The purpose of this survey is to measure student support, student engagement, school discipline, and safety conditions in our school. For more information, please click here. The survey is voluntary, and your child can decide not to participate at any time.  If you do not wish for your child to participate, please contact Catherine Richards (GHS Survey Coordinator) at crichards@glnd.k12.va.us or (804) 556-5322.

Reminders

Attendance Procedure Reminders - As we begin a new semester, we would like to remind students and parents of our attendance procedures at GHS. As in previous years, we ask that parents call the school between 8:00 - 10:00 am to report their child’s absence. Absent students must bring a note on the first day they return to school stating the reason(s) for their absences. Notes are held as legal records of student absences. In place of a handwritten note, parents may email our attendance secretary at bulldogs@glnd.k12.va.us. In addition, students wishing to leave school early without their parents present must bring a written excuse signed by their parents by 10:00 am the day of the early dismissal. Instead of a handwritten note, parents may email their request for early dismissal to bulldogs@glnd.k12.va.us.  This email must come from the parent’s email address, not the student’s email address.  In the case of an emergency, parents may call in and ask for administrative approval for an early release over the phone. A huge thanks to all of our student’s parents who have helped us by following these procedures throughout the first semester.

Parking Second Semester- If you need to add another vehicle to your parking sticker, please use the following link. Starting the week of January 22nd, we will return to fines for cars without a parking sticker.

PTSA Update - Parents received an email from me on Thursday, December 14th with this letter. Please consider joining our Goochland High School PTSA. This team will help organize and facilitate different activities to celebrate our students and staff at GHS. Thank you for considering!

Yearbooks - To pre-order your 2024 yearbook, please go to balfour.com. Currently, the price is $70. To guarantee that you receive your yearbook by the end of this year, please make sure to order it by Thursday, February 1st. Seniors can also purchase Senior ads at this site. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Mistler (kmistler@glnd.k12.va.us).
