Black History Month

In addition to the instructional activities taking place in students’ core academic classes, students in our African American History class are creating daily trivia questions on our morning announcements. The goal of this is to highlight contributors to African American history and American history that stems from both African American and Afro-Latin heritage. Students will have the opportunity to win prizes for participating and answering correctly. We will cap off the month with a student-planned Black History Month Assembly on Wednesday, February 22nd with student performances from our band, chorus, and theater arts students featuring African Americans whose influence is far-reaching in the arts.  Dr. Omega Wilson will be our guest speaker for this event.

We are extremely excited to celebrate the accomplishments of these great American heroes!
