Goochland High School was originally built in 1934 and then moved to its current building in 2001.  The original building is now the Goochland County Administration building. Goochland High School is the only high school in Goochland County and serves approximately 835 students in grades 9-12. For more demographic and testing data, please visit the Virginia Department of Education’s School Quality Profile for Goochland High School.

As the school and the county have grown, course offerings have been expanded and include Blue Ridge Virtual Governor’s School, Special Education programs, Visual and Performing Arts, World Languages, GED, Advanced Placement (AP), Marine Corp JROTC, Computer Science, Dual Enrollment, Career and Technical Education (CTE) and the Advanced College Academy (ACA), which allows students to earn college credits towards an Associates Degree while still in high school through a partnership with J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College.

Athletics at Goochland High School have also been an integral part of the total school program.  Presently, our athletic department offers football, basketball, baseball, softball, track, cross country, soccer, tennis, golf, swimming, wrestling, and girls volleyball.
