SCHOLARSHIPS CURRENTLY ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
SP SCHOLARSHIP – $10,000 – 10 Awards -To be eligible for the scholarship a student must: be a high school student planning to attend college in September 2018 and answer the essay question on the sponsors website. HAGAN SCHOLARSHIP – Must be a citizen of the United States. Must attend an eligible high school. Must be a student in the high school graduating class. Must have achieved a 3.50 or higher. Must score 23 or higher on the ACT (Composite Score); or 1,200 or higher on the SAT (Total Score). Must enroll at an eligible four year college or university the fall semester following high school graduation. Must work 240 hours in the twelve months prior to the start of the academic year of college. Must complete the FAFSA in 2017. EFC must be less than $6,500. CAR SEAT RESEARCH 2017-2018 SCHOLARSHIP – Car Seat Research is offering and annual merit-based mid-term scholarship to all students. With some of them being former university graduates, they fully understand the value of education and scholarship programs’ importance. This scholarship requires either an essay or video submission. The three winning applications will receive $3,000, $1,000, and $500 dollars towards their costs of education. SIXT SCHOLARS – $5,000 – 5 Awards. To be eligible for the scholarship a student must: have a minimum 3.7 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Graduating high school senior in the USA, academic year 2017/2018. UNIVERSITY OF VIRGINIA JEFFERSON SCHOLARSHIP – The Alumni Association sponsors this scholarship for any student applying to the University. This is a full scholarship and the process begins with a nomination from your school directly to the Jefferson Scholarship Foundation. HSC HOME WARRANTY SCHOLARSHIP – $2,000 – 1 Award. Open to high school seniors or college students who are legal residents of the United States. NYLON PINK SCHOLARSHIP – Nylon Pink is presenting their Annual Scholarship Program for women. The recipient will be awarded $500. They run this scholarship program every year. ACT STUDENT CHAMPION SCHOLARSHIP – Applications are open for the ACT Student Champion Award! The ACT Student Champion Award recognizes one student in each state who is tenacious and persistent, not matter the challenge, and is prepared for life after high school with a goal in mind and plan in place. ACT Student Champions receive a $500 non-renewable scholarship, certificate, plaque and state-level recognition. Students in the graduating class of 2018 who have taken the ACT who fit the following criteria are encouraged to apply. A student who has overcome challenges and can articulate education and career actions. Students must have a composite ACT score of a 22 on a single test date or a 3.0 or greater on a 4.0 scale. THE RON BROWN SCHOLAR PROGRAM – The Ron Brown Scholars Program seeks to identify students who will make significant contributions to society. Applicants must excel academically, show exceptional leadership potential and make an impact on their communities through service to others. The recipients may use the need and merit-based scholarships to attend any four-year accredited college/university within the United States. To be eligible, applicants must be U.S. citizen or permanent residents, Black/African American and current high school seniors at the time of their application. Applicants should demonstrate academic achievement, exhibit leadership ability, participated in community service activities and have a demonstrated financial need. UNIQUE SLEEPS SCHOLARSHIP – The scholarship is merit based and requires an article submission. The winning applicant will receive $500 towards the costs of their education, or can use it to contribute towards a travel fund. LIANA’S KITCHEN SCHOLARSHIP – The scholarship opportunity is open to students in: Canada, UK and USA. It is available to students who have been accepted to study at a recognized higher education facility for the academic year 2017/2018. The award will be $500 and will be paid in April 2018. THE GLORIA WILLE BELL AND CARLOS R. BELL SCHOLARSHIP – The scholarship program will provide up to $80,000 over four years of undergraduate study to students selected from the Commonwealth of Virginia, with preference given to residents of the Gloucester, Virginia area. Scholarships will be awarded to first year students entering the College of Engineering or the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Recipients must be enrolled at the University of Michigan and pursuing an undergraduate degree program in engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science or another related scientific field. Scholarship support is for four years or through graduation, whichever is less, and annual renewal is contingent on satisfactory academic progress. GENERAL ARMY ROTC SCHOLARSHIP – Rising high school seniors may apply for the scholarship as early as mid-June between junior and senior year. A National Board awards 4-year and 3-year advance-designee scholarships worth up to $57,000. The scholarship can pay either tuition and fees or room and meals; a monthly stipend ($300 for freshmen, $350 for sophomores, $450 for juniors, and $500 for seniors); and $1,200 per year for books. They are awarded based on high academic achievement, excellence in athletics, and demonstrated leadership skills. After graduating from the University of North Georgia, Army ROTC Scholarship recipients will serve as an officer in the Regular Army, Army National Guard or Army Reserve. If you enlist or are currently enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserves, National Guard, or other branch of military service, you are considered ineligible to receive a General Army ROTC Scholarship. LEXUS OF RICHMOND – Each week Lexus of Richmond recognizes one outstanding high school senior scholar-athlete. These nominees demonstrate outstanding achievements and hard work both in the classroom and on the field of play. WRLH FOX Richmond is proud to team up with Lexus of Richmond, 1140 WRVA, and Fox Sports 910. The weekly winner will be recognized in an on air promotional campaign on WRVA & WRNL.
