Goochland High School is proud to unveil the new Learning Commons, formerly known as the Library Media Center, on Wednesday, December 6th at 6PM. Thanks to the generous donations from private donors, our students are now able to access a collaborative work environment equipped with some of the latest technologies and flexible seating. If you would like to join us for the celebration, please email me by the end of the day on Monday, December 4th.
Over the next few weeks you might see some of us a little scruffier than normal, as we raise awareness for cancer by participating in “No-Shave November.” The goal of No-Shave November is to grow awareness by embracing our hair, which many cancer patients lose, and letting it grow wild and free (sort of :-)). As a team, we will donate the money we typically spend on shaving and grooming to educate about cancer prevention, to save lives, and to aid those fighting the battle. For more information, visit https://no-shave.org/team/Team_Goochland.
Please make plans to come out and support our PTSA All Night Graduation Committee on Tuesday, November 28th for our Spirit Night at Chipotle Restaurant in Innsbrook. The event will be held from 4pm-8pm, and 50% of all proceeds will be donated to the PTSA-ANG! You must present the flyer attached (see below) to this post at the register. We look forward to seeing you there!
As a reminder, this week is shortened for the Thanksgiving holiday. GCPS will be closed Wednesday through Friday to observe the holiday. We would like to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving! We hope that each member of our Bulldog family is able to spend quality time with loved ones and friends as we celebrate and give thanks.
American Education Week in GCPS begins on Monday, November 13, 2017! We have several events planned to celebrate the great work our teachers are doing at GHS. We have invited several community leaders into the building to observe our teachers in action. Additionally, our teachers will be encouraged to visit each others’ classrooms to participate in reflective practices. We are excited about the opportunity to showcase our school to our community.
