Attention parents and students! GHS Fees for student activities may be paid during business night, Thursday, August 18, 2016; or during Bulldog Block the first week of school.
FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL: Monday, August 22nd 8:15am-3:20pm
We are looking forward to having students back in the building for the first day of school. The 2016-17 school year is going to be the best year yet! Go Bulldogs!
FRESHMAN ORIENTATION: Tuesday, August 16th 9:00am-1:30pm (meet in the gym, lunch will be provided)
We will welcome our newest class, the class of 2020, to the Bulldog Family! Students will enter through the gym, and spend the day learning about all of the great opportunities here at GHS. If you are an incoming 9th grade student, please make plans to attend.
BUSINESS NIGHT: Thursday, August 18th 3:00pm-7:00pm
In preparation for a great school year, please plan to attend Business Night to receive schedules, pay fees (including dual enrollment tuition), purchase Bulldog gear and meet the new administrative team. We look forward to seeing everyone in the building that afternoon and evening!
Attention all students! Jump into reading and reflecting! Check out the independent reading list for all students taking English classes in the 2016-2017 school year; the work does not need to be completed by the end of the summer, but it certainly helps (and is wise!) to get started now.

Seniors, if you are interested in portraits, please see the attached information.
Every year, the GHS Ceramics program participates in the Empty Bowls fundraiser. Students create bowls based on original designs, which they donate to be sold during the Fine Arts Festival. At the event, the bowls are sold for $10 each, filled with a serving of homemade soup. The proceeds of the sale benefit the Goochland Free Clinic and Family Services food pantry. This year, students raised $770, an amount that will surely benefit many families across Goochland County.
The Empty Bowls project is a global movement to fight hunger through locally organized events.
