We are excited to announce that GHS will continue the Sick Kicks Shoe Drive program once again this year. Sick Kicks was started by a 2020 graduating senior, Eli Bowman, as a way to give back to his community by donating new and gently used shoes to kids in need throughout our community. Now it has been passed down to two seniors in the Class of 2021, Haiden McCourt and Keeley Shoemaker. We will begin collecting shoe donations on Monday, November 16th, and will have the final collection day on Wednesday, December 9th. These dates have been chosen in order to allow maximum time for donations to be accepted and to allow enough time for the organizing, sanitizing, and sorting of the shoes to prepare them for distribution on Saturday, December 12th. If you would like to donate shoes, please drop them off at the high school during the school day in the hallway near the front entrance. We will have a donation box in the foyer. Please do not hesitate to reach out to Haiden (20mccourth@glnd.k12.va.us), Keeley (20shoemakerk@glnd.k12.va.us), or me (cwcollier@glnd.k12.va.us) with any questions. See the flyer below for details.
