As a reminder, this week is shortened for the Thanksgiving holiday. GCPS schools will be closed Wednesday through Friday to observe the holiday. We would like to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving! We hope that each member of our Bulldog family is able to spend quality time with loved ones and friends as we celebrate and give thanks.

Goochland Christmas Mother Donations
The Goochland Christmas Mother has asked Goochland High School to donate jars of peanut butter and canned meats for families in need. Students, please bring supplies to your Bulldog Block classroom by Monday, November 25th. The Bulldog Block that brings in the most cans and jars will win a free donut party during the first week of December. Let’s show off our kind Bulldog Spirit by donating to make a difference!
Highlights from GHS STEM Day
Goochland High School’s STEM Day on November 6th was a huge success! What is STEM Day, you say? STEM Day is a chance for students to learn more about Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math, and its relevance, through a team-based project or challenge. All STEM Day activities involved collaboration between two teachers (a science or CTE teacher with an English, history or foreign language teacher) and focused on development of critical life skills such as teamwork, communication, critical thinking, creativity and problem solving. While each pair of classes completed a different project, the projects all allowed students to learn about specific STEM concepts and see how those concepts connect to other content areas and are relevant to our everyday lives. Check out the amazing collaborations between content areas HERE that provided rich learning experiences for our students. A big thank you to our STEM Day leads, Ms. Desmarais and Ms. Borgie, for putting this all together!

CTE Community Feedback
Parents, we need your feedback! Goochland County Public Schools is interested in hearing your voice concerning possible future offerings in the Career and Technical Education Department. As this affects offerings for years to come, we would like to hear from parents who have students at all grade levels. Please take a moment to complete this brief survey. Your opinions are important to us as we continue to strive to meet the needs of all of our students and the community.
