The VDOE just published Goochland High School’s accreditation report. We are extremely proud of our full accreditation status and would like to thank our students, staff, parents and community for their hard work and dedication. While we have great pride in our results, we know we still have work to do and we need help from our students and parents. The VDOE will now look at chronic absenteeism as an indicator for school success. Our current school board policy allows parents to notify the school when their son or daughter is absent and he or she will be marked as excused. Under the state guidelines, if a student misses 18 or more days (excused or unexcused) it counts against our chronic absenteeism count. Parents, please assist us by keeping track of your son’s or daughter’s absences and assist us by making sure they are at school as much as possible. Thank you for your support! Research shows that daily attendance to school has a strong correlation to a student’s academic success.
