Every senior at GHS must complete a senior project to walk across the stage at graduation. Projects come in all various shapes and sizes, but A.J. Austin and Jack Twombly’s project has taken the form of a Cancer Awareness week, capped off by Goochland’s second annual “Ballin for a Cure” benefit basketball game on Friday, February 3rd at 7:00pm at Goochland High School. Proceeds from ticket, raffle and T-shirt sales will be donated to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
In addition to the game, throughout the week staff and students are encouraged to wear colors that represent awareness to find cures for the different forms of cancer. Here are the color themes for the week:
Monday: Wear Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness
Tuesday: Wear White for Lung Cancer Awareness
Wednesday: Wear Light Blue for Prostate Cancer Awareness
Thursday: Wear Royal Blue for Colon Cancer Awareness
Friday: Wear Purple for Pancreatic Cancer Awareness
