Network of enlightened Women (NeW), a 501(c)(3) is a nonprofit educational organization that works to train and educate the next generation of female leaders on college campuses across the country.
Every year NeW hosts an annual retreat called the Young Women’s Leadership Retreat, an application-only leadership program that invites leadership-focused college women (incoming and current) from across the country to attend. This year, the retreat will take place July14-July 17 at Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, VA.
The Retreat prepares and inspires young women to be effective leaders when faced with differing cultural and political climates on campus. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn from a wide range of guest speakers and network with NeW Alumnae, mentors, and peers.
The Young Women’s Leadership Retreat is open to both incoming Fall 2016 college freshmen and current college students. The program will be split into two tracks – one for rising freshmen and the other for upperclassmen (sophomores through seniors). Personalized workshops will be given focusing on the distinct challenges each group will experience. The two tracks will merge at points during the Retreat for panel discussions, leadership trainings, and team building events.
The retreat is a great opportunity for incoming freshmen and upper classmen alike. The freshmen will have the opportunity to learn leadership skills from experts and attend workshops preparing them for college life. Upperclassmen will gain mentoring and networking experience as they build relationships and guide the younger students.
